Quickie Post

Dexter is feeling a whole lot better today! He's walking around and wagging his tail and not moping. I was going to take him to the vet but he perked up. Maybe he had a doggie flu bug. I'm just glad he isn't acting sick anymore!

Jackie and Janet, I read your comments on the last post...you are cracking me up re. "The Adventures of Lisa" and "Mrs. Uglyboo". I found out today she called in sick today and also for tomorrow so our boss was not a happy camper. She had to ask one our girls who is on vacation to come in for her tomorrow morning because she couldn't get a hold of another gal who either was not at home or wasn't answering her phone. Personally, I don't think she should have called the girl who was on vacation. I think we could have handled the situation with the girls who were already scheduled but oh well...I know I would not be too thrilled to be called in during my vacation!

I had registered a man for e.r. tonight and later his wife had come out to the lobby to use the phone. After her phone call she walked over to me and asked me if I was "so and so's" daughter. I told her yes I was. Turns out back in 1961 when my little brother was killed, she and her husband were neighbors of my grandparents. I tell about the accident in this post. Anyway, this woman (who is around my Dad's age) told me that she remembered ironing the little plaid outfit that my brother wore in his casket. She said she also ironed my outfit that matched my brother's. For some reason she thought I was his twin. She must have thought that because of remembering ironing two matching outfits. I explained that I was born in '58 and he was born in 60. I told her I could understand why she would remember doing that though...it had to have been such a sad thing to do, ya know? Ironing an outfit for a baby's funeral. Who could forget something like that? I told her that even though I was there when the accident happened, I don't remember the accident. She told me it was very tragic and it affected her for a long time.

I'm glad Dexter is feeling better... we certainly worry about our critters, don't we? Wish they could tell us where it hurts.

I read your post about your brother. How tragic. I'm sure your grandpa was devistated. Such a sad thing.

I'm glad Dexter is better! It might have been one of those things.

Sounds like Lisa is on her way out the door. Too bad, I'm starting to get hooked on this soap opera!

I don't think you'd forget something like ironing the clothes for a funeral. It's interesting that you met her, it's a small world, isn't it?

Yes that is something hard to forget, I can't imagine having to do that... So sorry you had to lose him so young.

I'm hooked on the soap opera too! I've pegged her as one of those venomous enemies we love to hate!! LOL

Much better than a tv soap opera, that's for sure!

But glad you and Dexter are doing better. Maybe he was just feeding off your vibes.
