Last weekend I stayed at my parent's house while they went up to northern Indiana. I had to take care of their three dogs so that's why I stayed there. They went up there because my aunt was planning a "get-together/picnic" at her house which then turned into a combination 70th birthday party for my Dad and 50th anniversary celebration for my parents. Their anniversary isn't until October 26th but since they were coming up for the visit they decided to celebrate it then. That was all decided I guess after my parents arrived up there. My sister and her daughter went with my parents.
When they came back on Sunday and I saw all the pictures of Dad's birthday cake and heard about them celebrating Mom and Dad's anniversary too, I kinda felt blue that I hadn't been there too. I know from what they said that it was spur of the moment but I still felt a little bummed. I got to see pictures of some of my cousins that I haven't seen in ten years. Everyone has aged so much and it was kind of sad in a way too. The aging thing....that is!
Well, do you want to hear some more about the latest with "Miss Lisa" at work? On Monday I guess the shit hit the fan on day shift. When I got to work that day I noticed that Lisa wasn't there and the other gals said she had left early. A woman who usually leaves at 2pm was still there and apparently working in Lisa's place. After the boss left the other gals filled me on the reason Lisa left early. Working that day in admissions was Lisa, Tori and another woman "Pat". (Our boss and another woman were working in the boss' nearby office) Lisa announced to Tori and Pat that she could not be bothered because she was doing some admitting paperwork. This admission process normally should take no more than ten minutes at the most. Tori was sitting up front "greeting patients" and helping them and directing them to go to Pat's desk so she could take care of them. Lisa had left at one point and they assumed when she came back twenty minutes later that she was finished with her admission work. So since Pat already had a patient, Tori directed the next out-patient to go to Lisa's desk. The patient apparently walked over and laid their lab order on Lisa's desk. Lisa stormed out of her cubicle and walked over to Tori and half shouted that she was still doing her admission and then she marched around to the patient (Tori witnessing this as it happens) and handed them back their lab order paper and in a curt tone of voice instructed them they would have to wait in the lobby because she was busy at that moment! Lisa walked back to her cubicle and sat down. Tori was so mad at how rude Lisa was to the patient so Tori stormed off to our boss' office and told the boss that she was so mad at Lisa she felt like punching her! Our boss asked her what "has she done now?" Tori proceeded to tell her what happened and as she was doing that, Lisa walked in behind her and heard Tori. Tori turned around and Lisa shouted "I don't have to put up with this!" She also said something about how nobody has even spoken to her in two weeks. Tori shouted at her that it was because of the things she says! They were shouting at each other and then the boss told Tori and the other gal who works in our boss' office to leave the room please and shut the door and for Lisa to sit down. Later I guess Lisa was bawling so our boss told her to go home. Then apparently today Lisa made a snide comment to another gal who works there and this woman told her she wasn't going to be involved with her high school attitude and told her to shut up. Lordy, I think I am glad I am working nightshift.
Today Tori found a clerical mistake that Lisa had made on an account when a man called to give some information on said account. Normally, she would just fix the mistake but she said she was leaving it alone and just put the information in a note on the account. See...if a certain person didn't act like a little shit, her co-workers would gladly "cover" for her and fix the boo-boo and move on.
A Super Walmart will be opening up in October. I will be glad when it does because it will be open 24 hours and I will be able to go there when I get off work at midnight. I have heard that about six employees where I work are leaving or have left already to take jobs at the Super Walmart. Four from dietary and two from housekeeping. They had to close dietary early today and some of the night housekeepers have had to work on day shift to pick up the slack.
Well, my summer guilty pleasure ended earlier tonight when the reality tv show Big Brother announced their winner. I wasn't happy with the winner or the runner up...father and daughter Dick and Danielle Donato. Come to think of it....I never like who the winner is on that show. It is usually the most obnoxious and conceited people who win on that show. I don't know why I am addicted to watching that show but I have watched it ever since it's first season. I am looking forward to watching Amazing Race when it comes on again.
The weather is already starting to change. It has been getting a little cooler. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing colors. My favorite time of the year is Autumn! I will be turning 49 (ugh) in October too. Where has the time gone? I will have a week of vacation in October too so I am looking forward to that.
While I was at my parent's house last weekend, I watched a couple Netflix movies. One was a very thought provoking documentary and the other one was RV starring Robin Williams. I have to admit though that I didn't watch RV all the way through. It was that bad. I didn't find it very funny at all and it is supposed to be a comedy. I still have another Netflix movie to watch called Infamous starring Sandra Bullock and a host of other big stars. It tells the story of when Truman Capote was researching for his book In Cold Blood. I am not sure when I will get around to watching that one...maybe this coming weekend.

ooo, The Further Adventures of the Fabulous Lisa! Maybe she can get a job at Wal-Mart, too.
I'm sorry you missed that party.
There are really slim pickings movie-wise these days, aren't there? I can't remember what movie I wanted to watch when it came out on DVD, that tells me it probably isn't that good.
Thanks for the update.
I'm surprised Fabulous Lisa still has a job... I think Janet has the right idea! LOL!
I turn 51 in December... if it makes you feel better? ;)
Why, oh why, are there ALWAYS little miss perfects causing so much drama everywhere you go? Maybe Fabulous Lisa will just have enough and quit...hopefully!
Janet, yeah...well today I heard our boss say that maybe if we are lucky Lisa will go to work at "Wallyworld".
I agree it is slim pickings with movie choices. Or maybe my choices just suck! That documentary I watched was very interesting and worth seeing and very thought provoking but the subject matter is disgusting.
Sue, it is hard to believe I will be 49! In my head I still feel like a young'in. *sighs*
cmk...all this drama going on at work makes me relieved to be working on nights. I do miss working on days just because I feel so out of the loop with my family life.
Whew boy I don't miss office BS... And I hate Super Wal-Marts. They don't have near as much variety as the smaller stores, but they're non-existant anymore.. I also cant' stand RObin Williams..
Aren't I just a negative Nelly?? :P
Burg, as much as I miss day shift, I'm glad that on nightshift we don't have all that drama.
Walmarts are all we really have around here. I have to travel quite a long way to find any different type of stores. My little town used to have a dime store it closed up back in the early 80's. I still miss that little store!
I have liked Robin Williams in several of his movies...like One Hour Photo, Patch Adams, The World According to Garp, Mrs. Doubtfire, Awakenings, Dead Poets Society. He does annoy me when he is on talk shows though. He is so hyper and "never shuts off" so you can see who he is as a person.
