Feeling better

My daughter called me at work tonight. She had just left the theatre after seeing the movie Evening starring Meryl Streep. She sounded like she had the sniffles and said she was feeling all emotional after watching the movie. She said it was the kind of movie that left her feeling "overwhelmed". She said it was a very good movie. Now I am all curious and want to go see it myself!

She asked me if I was off work next weekend because she was thinking about coming to visit. Aw shucks! A gal at work asked me to work for her this coming Saturday so she could be off work yesterday and I agreed to do it for her. So I was off work yesterday and have to work this Saturday. Hopefully she'll be able to come up to visit soon though.

At one point while talking, she said..."I've been feeling so emotional this week and I don't know why! Maybe it is my hormones. I haven't been depressed or anything like that but I just feel so raw". That is when I told her that I had been feeling that way for the last few weeks too. I told her I had been missing her so much and had even thought about writing her a letter. She replied, "I love to get letters Mom!" She said it in a very loving voice. She talked again about coming to visit soon.

My co-worker had to register an er patient and I really needed to get off the phone and get back to work so we said our goodbyes and "I love you" and I hung up. I felt a sense of relief that she called! Whew. Motherhood.

Just when you wonder if all is well, they will surprise you every time! :)

I have to laugh--even though my girls and I have had our differences over the years, there really are times that I think they really DO like me. Example: whenever we take a trip out of town--whether it is overnight or for several days--one or the other will ALWAYS find an excuse to call me. Sometimes I wonder if I would EVER know they care if it wasn't for my having a cellphone. :)

Glad your daughter finally called! We're still waiting on my sister. I'd email her and ask what she's been up to, but it smacks of me interfering. She'd think that Mom put me up to it.

So glad!! I can't stand to be without my mother for long, and only hope that her spirit stays near me forever... I know that sounds kooky but oh well!
